Why We Built This Site
Louisiana opens a good deal of court information to the public, but the hard part is working out which office holds the piece you need. A warrant does not sit in one place. The court that issues it sets the charge and any bail. The sheriff's office is the agency that serves it, and it can say whether the paper was executed. A bench warrant from a missed appearance stays with the court that set the case, which may be a mayor's court or a justice of the peace rather than the district court.
On top of that, this state has no public statewide warrant search. Louisiana's criminal-history system is closed to the general public, and the state police do not run a lookup for open warrants. That combination makes it easy to check one office, hear nothing back, and conclude there is no case. What actually happens is that another office was holding it. The contacts, phone numbers, and request steps collected here exist so a resident of Tallulah, Delta, Richmond, or Mound can start in the right place and ask for the right record.
What You Will Find Here
- Warrant lookups: how to check a name through the sheriff, the Clerk of Court, and the lower courts with a warrant lookup
- Outstanding warrants: why no county roster exists here and how to ask for a current status date instead
- Missed court dates: how a bench warrant is issued after a failure to appear, and which court controls it
- Charge-based warrants: what a arrest warrant contains, who serves it, and how bail is set
- Traffic and ordinance cases: the payment, plea, and recall paths for a city or village citation
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Louisiana court, sheriff's office, or state agency, and there are firm limits on what it can do:
- It cannot run an official warrant check or confirm that a warrant exists for anyone
- It cannot recall, quash, clear, or remove a warrant from any system
- It cannot post bond or accept payment toward a fine, cost, or bond
- It cannot schedule a surrender, a court date, or a walk-through
- It cannot give legal advice about how a warrant applies to a particular person
- It cannot promise that every phone number, fee, or address here is current today
Only the court that issued the warrant, or the sheriff's office that holds it, can confirm the case and say whether it has been recalled or cleared. This site can point you to that office, and nothing more.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes supplied by outside companies. Those providers run their own services, set their own prices, and follow their own privacy practices. When a search box leads to a paid signup, this site may earn a referral fee, and that revenue keeps the pages free to read. The results those tools return are not an official warrant check and are not controlled by this site.
